Chief Jeremy Fourhorns

Jeremy is a proud member of Piapot and has lived on, or near the community his whole life. He then went on to work for the Saskatchewan Provincial government within the ... Read More Jeremy is a proud member of Piapot and has lived on, or near the community his whole life. Jeremy grew up in the community until it came time for high school, where he then attended Qu'Appelle Indian Residential School. Jeremy earned a degree from the University of Regina in 2005. He then went on to work for the Saskatchewan Provincial government within the Ministry of Learning, then onto SaskGaming Corp in Human Resources and Corporate Affairs until 2010. Jeremy has been elected to the Piapot governing council table since 2008, serving in both the chief and council positions; and believes that having a strong foundation for community and economic development will lead to long term benefits for the community of Piapot and the members.

Roland Crowe is a member of the Piapot First Nation, and currently a Councilor.
Over the course of his working life Roland has been involved in a variety of occupations ranging from applied work to diplomatic fields. His employment experience includes several years of farming, construction, guard at the Provincial Correctional Centre and political office. His career in public life began in the 1960’s when he accepted the wishes of his people to provide leadership for the Piapot First Nation. Roland spent two years as a councilor and six years as Chief. In the 1980’s Roland Crowe committed himself to work in the interests of all Saskatchewan First Nations peoples. He served for four years as the Vice Chief of the FSIN. Thereafter, Roland was elected chief of the FSIN for two terms over eight years. More recently he dedicated himself to his farming operation and then in 1997 was elected as the Chief of his own Band, the Piapot First Nation.
Roland Crowe demonstrates one of the finest aspects of our culture, which is to care and share. His long service and tireless efforts have resulted in major, positive benefits for his people and for the First Nations of Saskatchewan and Canada. His contributions will have a lasting impact on the lives of his people for generations to come.

His proven management approach and advanced interpersonal skills have yielded an enviable track record of efficient and effective delivery of strategic outcomes for organizations across Canada. Nick’s ability to work collaboratively with disparate stakeholders to build consensus has been key to his success across public, private and not for profit sectors.

Nick is the recipient of the Premier’s Award for Innovation (2013), and currently sits on the Board of Directors for ALS Canada and the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

Mark Fox

Mark Fox is a Cree/Dakota member of the Piapot First Nation and a Councilor
He is an experienced preventive and restorative counselor with over fifteen years in this field. He has worked in child welfare for many years providing services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Competencies include working with a diverse clientele. Specializations include; mediation, culture and child welfare. Mark has also volunteered his time to many community agencies and events. Mark and his wife Pam are the founders of Foxvalley Counseling Services, Inc. where Mark is the Executive Director.

Read More John Law created Lawmark International Consulting in 2012 to provide a more comprehensive approach to business development which integrates regulatory and business services for clients in the growing western Canadian economy. John brings to his clients over 30 years of experience in infrastructure, business development, logistics and executive leadership from his work with both the public and private sectors.
Mr. Law is a recognized leader in Canada’s transportation and infrastructure sector. He played a significant role in the development of national and inter-provincial transportation policy, serving as the President of the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) as well as chairing the Canadian Council of Deputy Ministers responsible for Transportation and Infrastructure. In 2010, he received TAC's prestigious lifetime achievement award in recognition of his valuable contribution to transportation development in Canada.

John is also the former Chief Executive Officer of the Global Transportation Hub, and served as Saskatchewan’s Deputy Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure after having begun his extensive relationship with the construction industry as the CEO of the Saskatchewan Property Management Corporation.

Louis has extensive experience in audit, business advisory services, taxation, and a variety other areas impacting First Nations including:
 Assisting First Nations with analysis of businesses, securing funding and negotiating the purchase of First Nation owned business enterprises. This included assisting in structuring the operations such that income was not taxable.
 Provides advice for his clients negotiating and ratifying land claims. This included calculation of losses and review of trust agreements.
 Assists clients with forensic investigations which led to recovery of losses through insurance claims. One investigation led to the conviction of the client’s employee.
 Assisted a First Nation with technical advice on their Bill C27 court case.
He has also been an expert witness for the Institute of Charted Accountants of Saskatchewan to provide evidence in an Institute proceeding.
Louis was a guest lecturer on Board of Directors certification at Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.
Louis is also the recipient of the Distinguished Community Service Award by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan for his community involvement, the Chief Joseph Brandt Fellowship from the Canadian Aboriginal Science and Technology Society and inn 2014 he was presented with an Eagle Feather.
He current serves on the Board of Directors for several private corporations in Saskatchewan and is currently the Chairman of the Budget Review Committee for Indigenous Gaming Regulators Inc.

Lorne Carrier

Read More Lorne has devoted his career to his cultural roots and to assisting First Nations with becoming fully employed. He is currently employed with FHQ Developments as an Employment Support officer where he assists First Nations with becoming fully employed. Lorne has also worked in various positions that have advanced understandings of the Treaties, repatriating artifacts of sacred and/or cultural significance to Treaty Four First Nations and individuals, and one of Lorne’s highlights was his work on the re-internment of the Grasslands National Park. His work in this area was recognized with the prestigious Saskatchewan Order of Merit in 2004.
Lorne received a BA Indian Studies, from the SIFC Saskatoon Campus and a Certificate in Cultural Resource Management from the University of Victoria.
